He watches her the entire time, mostly silent as he does so. There's something in her body language that he can't read, barely attainable as they are because Castiel is still a stranger to her. Kaede is a stranger to him as well, but he's known so many in his existence that it hardly matters anymore. With her confession, his mouth drops a little.

If he'd been anyone else, perhaps he would have chastised her, then, for thinking to wander around on her own. He could have done it anyhow; Zelien is no place for a child. But that does not make them strong, would not help them overcome this hurdle of hardly acquaintances that lay between them.
