[ And if you look outside, you'll come face to face with a disheveled version of yourself -- oh, wait. It'll be like looking in the damn mirror, only perhaps with a borrowed hoodie that he practically swims in. ]
[ Which is what he does, frown rather evident on his face as he takes in his appearance. There's a moment, two, and Castiel sighs, reaching out to grip him by that hoodie and jerk him into the outer part of the room. From there, he practically drags him along until they're shut behind another door. Alone. ]
You look - [ A pause, searching for the word. It's a quiet statement. ] - human.
[ Castiel presses fingers against his temple as he approaches the open door. He lacks his usual driven gait, seems to curl into himself like a man suffering from stomach cramps and he doesn't even have the strength to resist being pulled inside. He just nearly trips over his feet on the way in and has to put a hand on Castiel's shoulder to steady himself when he's finally inside his apartment.
He winces through the admission, because as much as he doesn't want to admit it, it's true. ]
[ Effectively? Perhaps too much. It seems as if Castiel hasn't taken well to this, and despite how he wishes to simply turn him away, never see his face again, he can sympathize. He understands this struggle, the pain and fear--even when he doesn't voice them.
Gently, he rests his hands atop the one on his shoulder. Asking where his grace had gone seems a bit redundant. ]
What do you want me to do? [ It's not as if he could heal him. He's not letting him have the booze either. ]
[ This is pretty much the worst day ever. Castiel never quite understood how life was pain until now. There was always something uncomfortable or off or too intense, even loud sounds of humanity going about it's daily routine seemed oppressive to extremes.
It took several tries to get himself to come here before he arrived at his door, and even his shoulder seems to slump at the added weight of Cas' hand on it. ]
I don't know. [ The now former angel looks somewhat defeated. ] I thought since... you've experienced this before...
[ He watches him for a moment longer, quite aware of what it is the angel must be thinking. He'd thought it at first too, still did from time to time, but there is more to being human than the agony, the too much or not enough. Whether or not he considers this an opportunity to repair whatever it is between them is not up for debate either. ]
Of course. [ Because he must know all the answers when it comes to this. Castiel pulls his hand back and uses it to rub at his neck before stepping away. ] Sleep first, maybe. The rest should follow.
[ At least, as long as he's there to make sure he doesn't screw it up. ]

I am effectively human.
...I need your help.
